Don’t bury me at WalMart
|
I came across this story recently. WalMart is now selling coffins. Is there nothing that we as consumers won’t buy if it’s cheap? Personally I plan to be cremated and I hope to have my ashes spread in Powell’s Books in Oregon. A little extra dust won’t hurt that place and I sort of like the idea of spending eternity hanging around with a bunch of books. I’ve never been a huge fan of WalMart. It could be all the annoying perky buttons they make their greeters wear. It could be their efforts to set pricing and drive smaller retailers out of business. It could also be the other people who shop at WalMart. If you haven’t gone yet, you must check out People of WalMart. I should warn you, some of these pictures could scar you for life. I have Suzy to blame for this. She sent me the link and now I can’t stop. It’s basically internet crack. So are you a lover or a hater of WalMart? |

OMG – the WalMart link is equal parts horrifying and hilarious. Thank you for sharing it and making my day!!

I’m a lover of Wal Mart as it has reduced prices for so many people so as to allow them to purchase more of the items they need on a daily basis. This is especially true in the current economy.

I like the lower prices for the things I need to buy each week. BUT, one thing I HATE about Walmart is that they just randomly decide to stop stocking things that I buy all the time, evern though I can find them in any other store (for a higher price!). It’s like Walmart is trying to tell me what I can and cannot have – - and I don’t like that!

Oh,my. That Web site is crazy funny. I like the prices at WalMart, but the crowds and lineups drive me nuts.

The South is littered with ghost towns and you have to drive 50 miles to Walmart to buy your daughter a pair of tights because you can’t get them anywhere else – all the stores are closed down because of Walmart. Oh, boy…I better go lie down before I get riled up…

They don’t allow WalMarts in L.A. because they’re not union stores.

I was on the FML website the other day and someone said they found their picture on that Walmart site. They might have been lying, but either way … hahahaha.

I so don’t do Walmart! I don’t like what they’ve done to small businesses.
And if you’re interested in funeraria—we make urns

The ugliest portrait is humanity–Walmart is the frame.

Gordon, that has to be the BEST quote I have ever read!

Thanks Liz, as a writer, I typically steal lines and modify them to my own use, but that one came up all on its own.

Maybe I need to get busy and start painting family Urns. Only two porcelain artists left in this family. Some will probably be needed soon. Guess mine would be a priority………..

Walmart is one of the signs of the apocolypse. I found a stunning statistic some time ago that said if Walmart gave every employee a 5% raise US inflation would increase by 3%?
