Cairo fought the tape, and the tape won
|
Our house is a sea of boxes, bubble wrap and paper. If something isn’t moving, being eaten or capable of saying “hey, put me down!” it is being stuffed into a box. Like generations of people who have moved before me, I started the move organized. A box was filled with similar or like items then labeled with its future destination, as in this box should go in the kitchen. As the move grows closer things are becoming more erratic. A box may contain, overflow from my sock drawer, corn on the cob holders, a box of old photos and old gift wrap. I suspect unpacking will be an adventure. While we were away one day young puppy Cairo located a roll of tape. No doubt the tape was the instigator and attacked him. He assures me it wasn’t his fault. When I came home he was wrapped up with what was left of the roll stuck to his side. He has an interesting home haircut as a result. I think it is safe to say all of us will be happy when the move is done this week. |

I certainly hope you took a picture of that AND that you post it.

Almost there!
Of course, then you have to unpack. But that’s a lot easier (*she says, ignoring the pile of boxes still in her office*).

Oh, poor Cairo!!! Ouch! That must’ve been quite the battle.

Ahh..yes. The last push to pack. We moved here two years ago and just the other day Victor opened a box of art prints at Sunday Soup to show people. Inside the box, along with the prints, was a plastic frog, a bottle of hand lotion (always a great thing to pack with fine art prints), candles, cat toys, wash cloths, etc. Hey, there was extra room in the box!

P.S. The cats are just shaking their heads at poor Cairo. Miss Sophie says to tell him, “When the people are away, you’re supposed sleep…”

Sounds as though Cairo is ready to be “boxed” for the move. Good luck this week!

Best of luck you your move! I don’t envy you – - I still get the shudders when I think back to our move (3 years ago this week!) to our dream home. But, it IS all worth it! Really. It is.

As one who survived a move a scant two months ago (the memory is still all too fresh) I wish you well.

From a conversatiopn I had with Eileen last weekend, I believe she was too concerned with Cairo to take a picture. I agree, I sure would like to have seen one.
