Random Monday
Last week I did a presentation for the Summer Reading program at the Squamish Library. You don’t know fear until you face seventy kids ages 6-12 all looking to be amused on a summer afternoon. I think it went well. No one threw anything at me. At the tend of the talk a bunch of kids wanted my autograph. I am not too proud to admit that I thought this was about the coolest thing ever.
On Sunday I signed books as a part of the YA Author Extravaganza at Third Place Books in Lake Forest WA. I had a great time. It’s hard to go wrong with a great bookstore, fellow writers, and readers. There may be something sooner, but for certain I’ll be signing books this October at the Surrey International Writer’s Conference. You don’t have to go to the conference to go to the book signing, but if you’re a writer this conference should be on your wish list.
My good friend and fellow writer, Joelle Anthony, is doing a give-away on her blog. It’s a CD of awesome fiddle music. It’s a little known fact that I used to play the violin as a child. I think you could call it playing. It wasn’t pretty. I think it is safe to say my gifts do not lie in the musical talent area.
Fellow Deb Ball friend Elise Allan’s new book, Populazzi, is now out. I loved this book so much I blurbed it. If you are looking for a fun summer read be sure and check it out. Also look for my blurb on the back cover right under a blurb from Hilary Duff. This is about as close as I get to the movie star set- but I dare to dream.
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
