Random Monday

My thoughts go out to everyone who was impacted by Hurricane Sandy. If you’re feeling moved to do so The Red Cross is accepting donations. I hate dealing with minor inconveniences so I can only imagine how I’d cope with no power, no running water, and the ocean inside my house. I think it’s safe to say it wouldn’t be pretty.

Speaking of disasters I think I speak for the entire world when I say I am so glad the US election will be over this week. The non-stop yelling and dire prediction that “if (insert name of candidate you hate) is elected the world will end!” is driving me batty. If it doesn’t end soon I’m going to end up in a fetal ball in the closet crying while hitting myself in the head.

I’m still in the middle of conference season. I spoke along with a great group of YA writers (Joelle Anthony, Denise Jaden, Catherine Knutsson, and Mindi Scott) at the North Vancouver City Library last Saturday. Huge thanks to everyone who showed up.

I’m already planning a book launch party for THE ALMOST TRUTH. It will be December 13th at 6:30pm at Kidsbooks in Edgemont Village. We’re going to combine the event with a chance for people to drop off new books for the Toys for Tots program. It’s your chance to get a book signed by yours truly, enjoy some snacks, meet great people and hang out in one of my favorite bookstores. Go ahead and put it on your calendar.

I can’t remember if I shared this before or not-but personally I can’t get enough of Dogshaming.

Hope everyone has a great week!

I’m tired of having to let the phone ring because it’s another political phone call. But thank goodness for caller ID.

I’m so with you on being glad that the election is over. Some of the conversations on Facebook and Twitter were insane. It will be nice to go back to social networking for the fun of it, without having to worry about all the arguing.
