Unpredictable has sold in Russia, France, Germany, Turkey, Poland, and China. The film rights were optioned by New Line Cinema.
Sophie Kintock isn’t crazy, she just wants her guy back. And posing as a psychic to give his new girlfriend a face reading designed to break them up isn’t going overboard, is it? Don’t answer that.
Faking psychic powers turns out to be easy and fun, especially after a few lessons from Nick, the cute (if a bit nerdy) skeptic, who knows all the tricks of the trade. But her readings do a lot more than she could have predicted, and soon Sophie needs to figure out whether the answers lie in the stars-or in herself.
Read the first chapter of Unpredictable

What Would Emma Do?
While juggling friendship issues (her best friend isn’t speaking to her), a love triangle-turned-square (okay, maybe she shouldn’t have kissed her best friend’s boyfriend…but it was totally an accident!…sort of), and escalating mayhem in her small religious town (uh-oh…what would Jesus do?), Emma realizes she has to stop trying to please everyone around her and figure out what she wants for herself. It’s time to start asking, “What would Emma do?”
What the School Library Journal has to say: Emma Proctor is the only person in her small town with big dreams of leaving. Even worse, she slipped up and kissed her best friend’s boyfriend, who was also her good friend. And when members of the popular clique begin fabricating stories of drug poisonings and place the blame on the school outcasts, Emma is one of the few people with proof that they are lying. Now she must make some tough decisions: Will she risk her track scholarship and ticket out of town to do the right thing? And will her friendships survive this drama? Cook keeps this book fresh with her smart and sassy protagonist. While some of the plotlines are predictable, Emma’s moral struggles and subsequent questioning of her born-again faith are touching and sincere. Fans of chick lit will appreciate this book.

Getting Revenge on Lauren Wood now available!
Simon Pulse
In the final weeks of eighth grade, Lauren Wood made a choice. She betrayed her best friend, Helen, in a manner so publicly humiliating that Helen had to move to a new town just to save face. Ditching Helen was worth it, though, because Lauren started high school as one of the It Girls–and now, at the start of her senior year, she’s the cheerleading captain, the quarterback’s girlfriend, and the undisputed queen bee. Lauren has everything she’s ever wanted, and she has forgotten all about her ex-best friend. But Helen could never forget Lauren. After three years of obsessing, she’s moving back to her old town. She has a new name and a new look, but she hasn’t dropped her old grudges. She has a detailed plan to bring down her former BFF by taking away everything that’s ever been important to Lauren—starting with her boyfriend. Watch out, Lauren Wood. Things are about to get bitchy.

How funny and adorable, Eileen. As a first impression-maker, Sophie comes across as genuinely charming with her own misguided feelings and thoughts…that will obviously cause her to be unpredictable. Thanks so much for posting this chapter.

Know well that Albert Einstein’s socks never matched. He felt that he couldn’t be bothered by something so trivial. Maybe that’s why I’ve resolved myself to accepting the wearing of mismatched gloves this winter. But now I wonder if someone has carefully taken one of all the pairs alternating left and right. Just a thought.
Keep up the good work Eileen.

Oh my, I can’t wait for your book to come out!
I’m so glad my hubby had me come to your site to check out the circuit city credit card fiasco, and that he pointed out you were going to be published. Now I’m going to be all antsy until the book is out and I can see what happens next. Sophie is delightful… you had me at the start where she was stealing the socks.

I found you via Swishy, via Beth. I LOVE the story so far! I really love the fact that you write in a ‘normal’ fashion, which is the only way I know how to explain it. You know, like the average person, and I don’t have a doctorite degree to read it! LOL
I will definitely by the book!

I just finished reading Unpredictable. I only bought it three days ago! I absolutely loved it and would have finished it sooner if work and life hadn’t interrupted! Sophie is such a charming character and I certainly saw a little of my “crazy” in her. Haven’t we all been the girl who would go to any length to win back the one we love? I am anxiously awaiting your next book!

I just finished “What Would Emma Do?” I loved it! I’m so used to reading books where everything ends up “happily ever after” in the end. This book was a breath of fresh air, there was so much more involved than just romance and friendships like most young adult books. I really enjoyed it, I want to thank you for such a wonderful reading expierience. Also, I would love a sequel!
August 23rd, 2009 at 12:46 pm

November 5th, 2009 at 1:21 pm
I just finished reading “What Would Emma Do?”, and I just wanted to say that I loved your book! Once I started reading it, I couldnt put it down! The connection between Emma and Todd was a great story, and the beggining where Emma kissed Collin just created susspense! I hope that this book will be made into a movie, I would love to watch it. And I was also hoping that you could continue this book into a series of books maybe, because Collin and Emma really did never hit it off and it would be great to continue the story into another, or several other books.
Thanks,

i just finished reading “what would emma do?”
i really enjoyed it. i was laughing almost the entire time. you have the greatest sense of humor. i can’t wait for my school library to get “unpredictable”
i will say though, i’m quite saddened by the fact that we don’t find out what happens with todd. he just kind of upped and disappeared from the story…
December 22nd, 2009 at 3:03 pm
I loved “What Would Emma Do?” and can’t wait to go back to Borders to get more of your books! I really enjoyed the whole book (added point for using the name Colin; it’s my crush’s name) and loved the whole small-town religion storyline. I can relate, since my parents grew up in West Virginia, and I visit there every Christmas and sometimes during the summer. You captured the emotions and the actions that someone would feel and do perfectly. I could relate with Emma, and the entire book I wanted her and Colin together, so it disappointed me that him and JoAnn got together. I wish that you would make a sequel because I want her and Colin to have another chance, and I want to see Darci marry someone and become a trophy wife. That would be funny. I love your portrayal of a high school misfit and I hope that my books will be half as good as yours. Congratulations, I have added you to my list of great authors, next to Lauren Myracle, J.K. Rowling, Alyson Noel, and Rick Rick Riordan.

January 14th, 2010 at 6:42 pm
I just finished “Getting Revenge on Lauren Wood.” I must say I was very skeptical about reading this book simply by the context and detail about the book. The first night I sat down and decided to read it anyway I was already through the first ten chapters and it was about three a.m.. Today is day two and I just finished the book. That’s how much I loved your book. I must say that the acknowledgements page was clever and I have to agree readers should be included in the Thank You’s. Loved your book I’m off to read the others!

Eileen, I absolutely adored, Getting Revenge On Lauren Wood. It’s so real, and I like how everything balances out in the end. I also liked the fact, that Helen (Alias is Claire) figured out, that she needed to get a life. STAT!:) This is one of my favorite books of all time. I give the book five stars, if that’s possible. Keep on writing!

I finished Getting Revenge on Lauren Wood in a day. I normally take forever to read books, as
I’m always busy with school (freshman in highschool). Well, I guess it technically took me two days to read because of the fact that I didn’t want to read the last to chapters as then the book would be over with. This book was great! This is the first book of yours I have read, but I’m definately going to go buy more! : ) thanks for the great read!
February 5th, 2010 at 7:31 am
I absolutely loved your novel What Would Emma Do. It’s definitely good to get a break from the whole “vampire-werewolve-romance” conspiracy. Don’t get me wrong – I adore Stephenie Meyer along with Kristen&P.C Kast, L.J Smith, Cassandra Clare, Claudia Gray, etc. but it feels good to know that there’s still hope for decent mortal guys. Goodluck with your other novels:)

I just LOVED the way Helen/Claire got revenge on Lauren. Truthfully, Lauren had it coming.
You can respect Christopher and Brenda, Helen/Claire’s friends who set a good example by being the individuals that they were and for wanting to do the right thing.
Seriously, Helen/Claire had some brilliant schemes to get revenge on Lauren and readers will vicariously enjoy seeing her revenge plans succeed.

Hey, I’m 14 and I’m French. I’ve just finished one of your book, I think the English title is “Don’t tell to my mother ….”
And I LOVE this book, it’s so funny, the character is so …. how could I say that ….. is so desperate and so funny. Even if it’s been a long time I’ve nort read a book, I read it in 2 days. And I absolutely wanted to tell you that you really are a good author (I’m not sure thta’s the good word ^^)
I’ve seen french comments, but I’m not shure you understand French ^^.
October 13th, 2010 at 10:54 am
Hello Eileen,
I adored Unpredictable, I asked a friend & my mother to read me one or two chapters everytime I laid on my bed just after my resting time (I have a dmd & I breath with a respiratory machine 24/24). As I’m a french speaking person, so I will give You my impressions about Your book in the language of “Molière” because I don’t dare offending the wonderful William Shakespeare language
)
October 24th, 2010 at 4:33 pm

Bonjour,
Encore merci. Et bonne continuation Eileen.
November 14th, 2010 at 3:47 am

Hi Eileen! My name is Cristina and I live in France. This morning, at 4, I finished reading “Unpredictable”. Congratulations, it’s a great story. I love Sophie, she has so much courage, she is funny and is ready for anything to get what she wants. I would like to be like her! I look forward to the appearance of other books in French. Good luck and God bless you!

bonjour,
